Description
A career military man, Viktor lives for the next mission – and his collection of weapons -- but a raid on an experimental lab makes him an unwilling protector, mostly because he can’t peel Renee off. A cold blooded croc, he never intended to settle down, but he didn’t count on a foxy lady warming his heart.

The world outside the laboratory was a big scary place. Unsure of how to deal with it, Renee latches onto the biggest, baddest, and sexiest, warrior around. Sharp toothed and with ice in his veins, Viktor’s violent side should have sent her running, but instead, she finds the courage to face her fears –and tame the lizard.

When danger comes knocking, with the intention of turning her lizard into a high priced fashion accessory, will Renee embrace her foxy side and show a croc she’s got what it takes to be his mate?

And will they finally vanquish the evil known as mastermind?

Warning: An ornery croc discovers he does have a pulse when a hot to trot fox decides to latch on, and never let go. Tongue in cheek humor, sizzling moments and a tiny, evil villain await. Muahahaha.

Excerpt:
When he finally served them dinner, he placed her plate at one end of the dining table, and his at the other. With about eight feet of wood between them – not including the extra inches in his pants – he relaxed a little, until he choked at her next question.

“Is my body repulsive?”

A coughing fit, a drink of water and a few deep breaths later, he managed to say, “What did you say?”

“I asked if my body was repulsive. Or inadequate.”

Nope. He’d heard her right. “Why would you ask that?”

“Well, while in the dungeon, I was the only one the guards never propositioned. Even the blob got some action. And then, in the shower, I thought you were going to kiss me, but you didn’t.”

How to explain he found her too attractive. “You’re a beautiful woman. But kissing you would be wrong.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re a victim.”

She cocked her head and regarded him with curiosity. “But you rescued me, so I’m not anymore.”

“You’re still adjusting to the real world.”

“Isn’t sex a part of that? Or is it taboo? Are there some cultural issues I should be aware of? I know the books I read when younger talked of marriage. Is that why you wouldn’t kiss me?”

Why, oh why, did he have to have this conversation? “Not everyone gets married before having sex. As for our culture, some people think intercourse is something to be shared only with someone very special. Others indulge for the pleasure of it. It depends on the person.”

“What group do you belong to?”

Where was an enemy to shoot him when he needed one? “Do we need to talk about this?”

Golden eyes perused him. “Am I making you uncomfortable? I don’t mean to. I just have so many questions.”

“This is something you should talk about with another woman.”

“But I don’t know another woman. And I trust you.” Her eyes suddenly widened in shock. “Is the reason you didn’t kiss me because you are married to someone? Do you already have a mate?”

“No.” He could see his terse reply didn’t answer the question in her eyes. “I didn’t kiss you because you’re not only a mission, you’re – you’re too young.” At twelve years difference, plus her naivety from her incarceration, she deserved better than old croc like him, even if he could put the younger men to shame with his strength and skill. And he didn’t mean just in battle.

She puffed out her chest. “I’m twenty six. Well past the age most women discover their sexuality.”

“And how would you know that?”

“Amelie said she lost her virginity at sixteen. That it’s almost unheard of for women in their twenties to have never been with a man.”

“And who is Amelie?”

“She used to live in the cell next to mine until they moved her to another faculty.”

“Your friend was wrong. There’s nothing wrong with being inexperienced at your age.” By the swamp, it made her hotter.

“But I don’t want to be inexperienced. Can’t you teach me?”

Hell yes! Wait, no. “Renee, you can’t just proposition a man like that.”

“Why not? I want to learn. You said you’d teach me.” There went that stubborn lip of hers, jutting out adorably again.

Despite the innocence of her demand, he couldn’t help a surge of lust. “I said I’d teach you to fight not to…” Get naked and cry his name as he brought her to orgasm. “Listen, when you and your friend had this talk, did she also explain that people tend to choose someone closer to their age to be intimate with?” Dammit. Would someone please kill him now? He so didn’t want to have this conversation.

“What does age have to do with it?”

“That’s just how it is. If you decide to get involved with someone,” over his dead, reptilian body, “then you should do so with someone young like yourself. Not old like me.”

“You don’t look old.”

The compliment shouldn’t have pleased him. But it did. He squashed his preening pleasure. “I am though. Enough of this conversation. It’s not appropriate. Eat.”

She stopped the questions, the oral kind at any rate, but as she ate, he caught her stares. When the meal finally ended, and he spotted her yawning, he jumped on the chance to put her to bed. Alone. Cold blooded creatures didn’t snuggle. Ever.

Renee comes off as vulnerable and helpless in the beginning, but as the story is told, she blossoms and finds an inner strength she didn't realize she had. Viktor is your typical alpha male, but I laughed as he tried to fight off Renee's innocent advances, knowing he would crumble sooner or later. The action in the story was well placed and Mastermind was finally unmasked. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the tale, from beginning to end.

I enjoyed this one.I love author's humor. I laugh so hard. I read the other two of seried and couldn't wait to read victors story. I would suggest to read in order because all the books tie together. You will enjoy if u like shifters and sex and lots of humor.

I loved the hilarious and hot dynamics between the romantic leads and the introduction to my very first crocodile shifter hero - it's one of my favourites by Eve Langlais! Whenever I think of this book, I imagine the freaked out Renee unexpectedly leaping onto the ornery Viktor and clinging tight as he brings her out of the lab into the real world. I picture his face in response to this and laugh! "Great. Now everyone would see him wearing a woman." Makes me want to read it all over again!

I absolutely love this series. This book was not my favorite but still a 4 out of the 5. The characters were funny and enjoyable.

HILARIOUS! Just.. get it. The interactions between the supporting characters alone is worth the price. I got side tracked from the H/H due to their antics. Spent a week trying to get the image of a 'saber toothed bunny' outta my head. Good times! Random out breaks of giggles..oh and yeah.. somewhere in there..some raunchy sex. We're good. If a series isn't your thing..may I recommend starting with this one. PRICELESS!

this series is great. I love how the story is different. I have never read a book about a shifter being a crocodile before. Interesting read.

Croc and the Fox is as funny as all of Eve Langlais FUC books,(Furry United Coalition). I love a grumpy hero. Renee has lots of issues, but her sunny personality makes her lovable, and funny as heck.

Sexy characters and funny to boot. This series is for those that like their erotic romance with more than a touch of humour. Can't take it seriously, but can take it enjoyably!

Another favourite by miz langlais. I loved the chemistry between victor and renee. the beginning made me laugh especially when she ran back to where she was comfy and clung to victor as her lifeline. Totally getting the others in this series.

Good character development - I felt I knew and liked Renee and Viktor and their quirks. The use of humor was great, but the muahahaha's were a bit TOO silly. The fact that a "victim" was allowed to walk around the facility without any supervision was a little hard to swallow. But overall, a fun, enjoyable read.

This is the 3rd book in the FUC (gotta love the name)series. I was worried about this installment since book 2 was "okay"; I should not have worried, this one is as good as the first. Really funny and hot.

As a fan of series, I realize that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose when it comes to books later on in the series. While I wasn't a fan of the second book, this book redeemed my faith in the series!

LOL book, it was funny and sexy all at the same time. The interaction between the couple was great! This is a great series.

I put off reading this for a while. Though it would be a little weird. I am so glad I read it. I loved it. I laughed so hard in some parts. The way Renee got over everything that happened to her was awesome as well. I'm glad Viktor finally got over the age differences and all the other things he was using to keep them apart.

The third time is the charm. You don't get any funnier than this book. The poor Croc doesn't stand a chance against his little Fox. I need more from these special FUC agents. Keep this series coming.
Submitted By: MstCat on Jan 13, 2013
I thought this book was okay. I enjoy books that incorporate humor into the story, but I thought the humor in this e-book was more juvenile than actually funny. This is the first book in the series that I've read and I'll probably go back and read books 1 and 2 just out of curiosity. If I were to grade it I would have to give it a C.
Submitted By: wingedmythion on Jan 13, 2013

I have read all of this series so far and they are fun reads. Not the normal wolf shifter but good story.
Submitted By: carol55 on Jan 6, 2013
Eve Langlais can be counted upon to serve up a great light-hearted shifter romance and this one is no different. Tough hero, quirky heroine and a weird villainess made this a fun read. I suspect I'll have to find the sabre-tooth bunny in a previous book - looks too good to miss.
Submitted By: anonymoose on Jan 6, 2013
Lots of fun like the rest of the FUC series.
Submitted By: sophiarose1816 on Jan 4, 2013
My introduction to Eve Langlais was through her Cyborg Series and this was my first reading of her books beyond that. I am so glad that her particular blend of humor, passion and a touch of danger translated into her other books. This was a lighter paranormal shifter read which may not appeal to everyone, but I found it a nice satisfying change from my usual fare. I loved the interaction between the main characters and even found the villain fun. I'm going back to read the rest in the series.
Submitted By: garcat2 on Jan 4, 2013
Humorous take on shifters, without crossing the line into being a spoof. Very enjoyable read with hot sex (not overly explicit). Third book in a series, better enjoyed in order, but can be read as stand-alone. The hero and heroine have a HEA, but the last couple of paragraphs set up for another book in the series.
Submitted By: blueriver1316 on Jan 4, 2013
Hero was too much of a martyr, always saying that he is too old for her, a bad mean killing machine. Heroine was abit clingy (I can understand why) but she is even badder and scarier than he is. Can be longer.
Submitted By: lanalucy on Jan 4, 2013
Croc and the Fox was pretty good. Had an intriguing premise that was mostly done well. Grammar and writing technique were uneven. Most of the sex scenes were short, sweet and to the point, though no less hot for it. The villain had a fairly good reveal, and the story is definitely left open for more adventures. FUC is a really silly organizational acronym, even though it made me giggle a couple of times.

Normally, I LOVE books by Eve Langlais. I didn't really enjoy this one though. I just couldn't get into the characters at all, and found the plot to be ... boring.
Submitted By: cardinal on Jan 2, 2013
I loved this book. Despite dealing with some heavy issues such as the kidnapping and experimenting on shifters this book was written in a way that kept me smiling with the occasionally LOL when Mastermind released a subtle muahahaha. This book reads better in order with the rest of the series in order to get the complete story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The interaction between the two main characters was great, and I found myself trying to stifle laughter in a few spots. It was a fun, light read, although if you have trouble suspending your disbelief this might not be the best book for you.

This was a great read, many laugh out loud moments but enough steamy sex to mix in with it. Read it before I read the 2 books before it in the series, kind of wish I had read them first but this story got me to read the other FUC books.

This is a story I felt fell flat. Was it supposed to be a 'tongue in cheek' story so it couldn't be taken seriously?
Submitted By: ydressup on Jan 1, 2013
This book had me laughing out loud. The reluctant Croc meets his match. Project (Renee) is depicted very well. She doesn't remember being outside in her life due to the Mastermind's evil ways. She latches on to Viktor with no reservations even though he would rather she not do that. They of course find they have great chemistry and utilize it well. Furry United Coalition #3 is steamy and funny. Perfect combo if you ask me!

I have long admired Eve Langlais' ability to create characters that entice, engage and enthrall. I am always left with a sense of satisfaction when the story comes to a close but a little lost wishing I could stay inside the world she created. This is no exception to the rule. After watching his bear friends secure their future mates, Viktor shows his alpha side when he meets a nameless fox. Romantic, erotic and playful, while maintaining the story line and sense of danger across three titles.
