Continuing Legal Education by Denise McCray - Romance>Contemporary eBook

Sonia Roberts has a serious problem. No, she has two. Her most pressing concern is to get the continuing legal education credits she needs to keep her law license. The second is to figure out a way for the man of her dreams to notice her. If only getting Thomas’ attention was as easy as sitting through a boring workshop.

Thomas Pearson is a man of action, taking whatever steps necessary to achieve his goals. Right now, all he wants is a few hours with Sonia. Alone.

After one encounter with her, Thomas realizes he wants more, much more. Can he convince Sonia to give them a chance?

A pair of arms that felt like steel bands surrounded Sonia. The room was dark; the blinds drawn. The man pushed her back against the closed door, lowered his head, and stilled her with a passionate assault on her lips. To her consternation, a moan slipped out before she could stop it. Whoever he was, he sure could kiss.

Once they came up for air, Sonia wiggled out of his arms and stepped a few feet away. “Who in the hell are you?” The lights flickered on, causing her to shield her eyes until they adjusted. To her amazement, the man she thought she’d never have a shot at stood before her, Thomas Pearson.

“Hey, Sonia.”

She opened her mouth and then quickly closed it. “How did you get my cell phone number?”

“I made it my business to find out.” He took one, then two steps toward her. “I’d like to get to know you better.”

She put up a hand to stop his progress. “And you couldn’t have asked me out on a date?”

“By the way you’ve been looking at me, I thought we could skip that step.”

“I haven’t been looking at you—”

“Liar, liar, pants on fire,” Thomas chided as he drew closer, openly checking out her body. “How about we take care of those pants?” He reached out to take her in his arms again.

“Don’t you want to talk a bit first?” She slapped at his hands while sidestepping his grasp.

With a smile that almost made her knees buckle, Thomas stopped in his tracks and began unbuttoning his shirt. “Sure, we can talk. What do you want to talk about?”

For the amount of money I expected more, because the story wasn't all that compelling.

Seemed as if you were reading the middle of the story. Just OK.
