Working Late, A Jarheads Story

Rock finished up at the gym and headed for the clinic. Rig had been working too hard, and Rock was fucking tired of it. Enough was enough. He was determined to bring Rig home at a decent hour tonight. Or else.

He went into the clinic and smiled at Helen, Rig's right hand woman.

"Rock." He got a warm, happy smile, Helen coming over to kiss his cheek. "Tell me you're here for my boss."

"I am. And I'm taking him, even if it's kicking and screaming." He bench pressed Rig's weight three times a week. Picking the man up and physically hauling him out of the place was an option, if it came to that.

"Now that would be worth paying to see. Should I get Shelly's video camera?"

He chuckled. "You tell me -- is he going to come quietly or am I going to need to strong-arm him?" The threat of a camera might actually pry that stubborn ass out of the chair.

"I think he's been hoping someone would come and make him go."

Rock grunted. That was his cue to go get his lover. Now. Stubborn fucking cowboy. "Have a good evening, Helen." He didn't wait for her answer before heading to Rig's office.

The door was open a crack, and he saw the coffeepot was almost empty. He also saw Rig's lunch sitting there uneaten. Wasn't that just like the man? He couldn't contain his growl.
