Excerpt:
A shadow detached itself from the darkened room and moved to her bed, to stand over her. Dark eyes flashed as the figure sat down by her side, doing it gently so she wouldn’t feel it.He smiled, revealing the gleam of large, white teeth.
She was here. His for the taking . . . forever. He leaned over and kissed her lightly.
“Sleep well, my beloved,” he whispered. “For tomorrow you will be where I dwell. This time there is no mother to stop you from staying the year with me. Even Zeus won’t do anything. No half measures this time.” He stood up and with a snap of his fingers, a vortex opened. He stepped through it, treading heavily down stone steps leading to the Underworld. The dark whirling circle closed behind him.

I loved the interlocking quality of the stories. The first book was the best because of the unknown factor. The 2nd book also succeeded in intrigue. Sensually the fist two stories felt more involved. The problems the characters faced in the third story made the book a little dry. And the final tale was too involved to be really enjoyable. The whole series is a fun read but I wouldn't really recommend it. Submitted By: pookietoes on Mar 9, 2010
