The Kandie Shop (Love Bites)

Marcus Johnson traded to the New Orleans Hornets was the headline written across the front page of the Dallas newspaper. Sweet and sour not only described Kandie Taylor's latest candy concoction, but it could also be used to describe her last relationship with the NBA star. She felt a sense of relief as she placed the newspaper down on the counter. Maybe, now that they would be in two different cities he would leave her alone.

With several failed attempts of rekindling their relationship, twenty-nine year old Kandie decided to pour her heart and soul into her business. As owner of The Kandie Shop, she'd been working day and night to make her candy business succeed in a dismal financial market. She smiled as she poured over last week's receipts. Business was looking good. It also helped that her shop was in a great location, in the heart of downtown Dallas.

The bell rang alerting Kandie a customer was entering the store. She jumped from behind the desk and went out front to greet them. Her morning employee, who was also her aunt, hadn't arrived yet, so she would be manning the shop until then. She plastered on a smile and rushed out the door.

Kandie's eyes landed on a tasty tall looking piece of Hershey chocolate. She admired his flawless skin from afar. She licked her lips as she made her way to where he stood. "Hi, welcome to the Kandie Shop," she greeted him.
