She was driving him crazy. Her scent drifted toward him and he inhaled deeply. His stomach tightened, the room became hotter, his cock hardened. He gritted his teeth and glanced at the clock. Three hours. Fuck. It had only been three hours since they’d last been together. Iain glanced toward Katherine and groaned. She seemed oblivious. There she sat at her desk, carefully counting papers and then stapling them together.

How could she not be going crazy? He could smell her perfume. Her presence was overwhelming him. He couldn’t concentrate on anything else but her.

Iain lowered his head to his desk and ground his teeth. His erection throbbed painfully in his pants, pushing against his fly, the zipper biting into sensitive flesh. His inner wolf wanted to mate. It wanted to drag her out of her seat, carry her upstairs and fuck her until the only thing they could do in the afterglow was hold each other. The world outside would not exist for either one of them.

“Problem, son?”

Iain looked up at his father and glared. This is his fault, Iain thought. He brought her here and now look at me, I can’t function properly. Iain wished his father would get up and leave, even if it was only for half an hour. He had to be inside of his mate, claim her over and over again until his scent was yet again imprinted on her skin.

“No, Father, no problem.”

His father nodded and continued to read. Movement out of the corner of his eye made him turn his head. He watched in agony as Katherine walked over to the bank of filing cabinets on the far wall, her hips swaying seductively. She stopped at a large, black cabinet and crouched down. Fuck. Iain groaned, his wolf whimpering with need. He watched as she pulled open the drawer. He heard the sounds of files falling against each other. After a minute or two she closed the drawer and rose up gracefully, running her hands over the sides of her skirt as if to smooth wrinkles he couldn’t see. Just this morning, in the shower, he had been inside of her, her cunt squeezing him so sweetly. Her screams music to his ears as she came. He bit down on his lip to keep from making a sound.

She walked back toward her desk, head down, dark brown curls framing her face. She didn’t even look up at him. Instead she sat down and pulled the chair back under the desk.

“What you got there, Kat?” His father asked. Iain resisted the urge to correct him. He hated when anyone else but him called her Kat. It was Katherine, old man, he said in his mind. Iain shook his head. The full moon was only a week away… and yet he felt as if it were that night. He had been edgy as of late. The combination of finding his mate, learning the ropes of the company, and the pack being split down the middle about whether Katherine should be inducted made him irritable. So far, the Montgomery twins and Conall were in favor of Katherine being inducted into the pack. Roarke was nowhere to be found. Brody, Kameron and William were against it.

He understood why some were against Katherine joining the pack. Humans could not always be trusted to be discreet. Brody, Kameron and William could all attest to that. The Montgomery twins, on the other hand, had a human assistant, and Iain honestly felt sorry for her. That poor woman and what she had to endure. Just the thought of it made Iain shake his head. Those lusty bastards couldn’t seem to keep it in their pants, and then they would ask her to break things off for them. At Conall’s wedding they were in their element, fucking any woman that showed interest, sometimes sharing that woman. Iain had almost blown a gasket when he found the twins in the bathroom sharing a woman out in the open space near the sink.

Although now, just thinking about the twins and that woman made him hot. He yearned to show Katherine some of that animalistic need that boiled just below the surface.
