Marin crossed her arms and gazed outside, “When you see him leaving Suzie’s house, walk out to the mailbox and get the mail. Stand near where he passes and pretend you’re looking through the letters. This will give you a way to start a conversation with him. Since we don’t have to work until six maybe you can lure him inside.” Her lips curled into a wicked smile, “That should give us all day to find out what makes the man tick.”
“Why did you have to mention work?” Lettie sighed, frowning. “I’ve seen enough of that place to last me a lifetime.”
Marin smiled at her roomy. Since traveling from a small town in Kentucky to Los Angeles to attend college, they’d taken evening jobs to supplement their tuition.
