I really enjoyed this story, but i wished it was longer and didn't end where it did. This is a good read for most people but i would recommend you read the story that comes before this (i believe it is called "Sanctuary") or nearly all of the backstory and half the plot in Ryder's Mate will have no context and you will have only mild understanding about the why's of everything.
