Power Play Anthology: Sex & Politics

Sex and politics go together like strawberries and champagne. And Henry Kissinger was right when he said that power is the best aphrodisiac known to man – or woman. Wherever there is a quest for power, whether it be on Capitol Hill, at your local city hall, or in the corner office at your day job, sex can’t be far behind. The intersection of sex and power – big and small, world-changing and inconsequential – is what this anthology is all about.

When I first sent out the call for submissions for this anthology, I wasn’t at all sure what I was going to get. After all, when we think of sex and politics, we usually think of sex scandals (think Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton, Senator Larry Craig getting arrested in an airport bathroom, et cetera) rather than the unique combination of pleasure and satisfaction that can come from the joining of sex, power, and the always-present risk of getting caught. But each and every one of the eleven authors in this anthology presents his or her titillating, and often surprising, take on how the introduction of political power can spice up the sexual encounter.

Any kind of sexual encounter. I’m not talking about the usual male-female meat-and-potatoes sex across a senator’s office desk or up against the wall in a CEO’s supply closet, either. In this anthology, you’ll get a taste of everything from male-male bondage and S&M in Florida during the 2004 presidential election (giving new meaning to the term “hanging chad”), to a sex-driven power struggle for pack leader in a den of urban werewolves, to a red-hot, clandestine encounter in the back of limousine between a sitting governor – and his lover.

And plenty more where that came from.

When it comes to sex and politics, only one thing is sure: No matter what kind of sex it is or who the participants are, it’s smoking hot.
