Excerpt:
“It’s very nice to make your acquaintance, Ms. Tomlin,” he said with a lift of his brow, his tanned hand extended toward her. Sherida caught the double meaning and gave a small nod and smile, then shook the outstretched hand. The unspoken question of whether or not she was married was answered. I am so going to jump his bones as soon as I get a chance. What? She asked her conscience. A woman had needs. She wasn’t a promiscuous person…but damn a bear…this man was oh so scrumptious. She knew she should have gotten up, but she was afraid that if she did, they would surely see the wet spot from her now dripping sex. She and Donald Shreveport were close friends, but she refused to let him see any further evidence of her reaction to the fine Mr. Whitney. Realizing that she still held his hand, she squeezed his long, strong fingers before releasing it.
“Please call me…Sherida,” she said breathlessly. “It’s a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Whiney.”
“It’s Harrison, and trust me, the pleasure is all mine, Sherida,” he said in that sexy baritone voice.
Oh my damn, with a name like Harrison you’d have thought he’d be all soft…his voice anyway, but nooo, Harrison had to have one of the most seductive voices she’d ever heard. Sherida wondered if it would get deeper…sexier while she rode him into oblivion. Oh yeah, she was definitely going to ride him.
“Well…now that the introductions are done, I think you two can take it from here,” Donald Shreveport said dryly, before turning away from her desk and walking toward the door. “I just wanted to make the introductions before I head out. I’ll be away for a few days and will expect a full report when I return,” he said pointedly before opening her door and walking out…closing it behind him.
After working with the man for three years, she knew Donald meant his parting words. Hey, do what you want on your own time as long as you got your work done, was her boss’ motto. Donald was a shrewd businessman. This agency was only one of his many business ventures, and although it started out small, it was growing by leaps and bounds. Just like everything else he touched. She watched the closed door for a few moments. Donald was a force to be reckoned with. She smiled to herself.
“He’s something, isn’t he?” Sherida heard Mr. Fine say.
“Yes he is,” she murmured before looking back at Harrison. What’d she go and do that for? There she was again, lost in those beautiful eyes of his. Sigh, she was surely going to get fired…because yeah...
