Description
When Eminence Dutton gets an invitation to a new club called Epitome from her former friend, Jordyna Hampton, she finds the timing suspicious. Eminence is about to start her own club and wonders if Jordie is trying to psyche her out or show her the way to run a successful club. What Eminence doesn't expect is to see her former boyfriend standing guard at the door. Then again, she shouldn’t be surprised. She suspected her ex-boyfriend cheated on her with her former best friend back when they were in high school.

Keys "Tank" Tanksley can't believe it when he sees Eminence standing in line at Epitome. He takes that moment and his temporary bit of power to give her a very thorough and intimate search that brings up old, familiar feelings--feelings he never stopped having for Eminence but that she must have abandoned a long time ago, evident from the attitude and the hard slap she gives him once she realizes who he is.

Eminence would never listen to reason regarding what she saw between Keys and Jordie. So he gives her a deal: one last call. They sleep with each other one last time before finally going their separate ways. Just kissing her lets him know that he doesn’t want their relationship to end. He hopes she feels the same way.

When Tank tries to rekindle the relationship with Eminence, one where he asks her to make a huge change, she has to wonder what's important: her dream or her heart.

Excerpt:
What the hell was she doing? Here she’d planned on coming into this club a winner. Now she acted like some horny teenager making out in an empty room. Not having any kind of intimate relationship with Les didn’t help her reaction. She couldn’t use that as an excuse to stray. So why couldn’t she stop Keys from caressing her?

She couldn’t deny that as soon as she discovered this hulking man’s identity, the old familiar feelings had come storming back.

Damn, he looked good. Now that Keys had beefed up, shaved all of that hair off of his face to show off that strong, squared jaw, and had his hair cut super short, he managed to make Eminence forget the anger she’d been harboring, a feat considering the number of years she allowed the fury to fester inside her.

As he had her pressed up against the wall, she took in his masculine scent. She’d never smelled him in anything but cheap cologne back when they knew each other. Now he smelled so expensive, musky, and strong.

Beyond her will, she snaked one hand up to the back of his head and pulled him down to her face. From the way he kissed her, he’d learned quite a few tricks. He’d trained his talented tongue to tease her. He tapped the tip of his tongue against hers then skimmed the surface until she ached to have more than just his tongue in her mouth.

The moan that had gotten caught in her throat earlier now vibrated their lips. Free from her panties, Eminence stepped her foot over as far as she could until her tight skirt prevented her from moving any further.

Damn, she should stop. Eminence hadn’t broken up with Les yet. She still had some unresolved issues with Keys and his association with Jordie. She had accused the two of them of sleeping together behind her back. If she didn’t stop soon, she would be doing the same thing to Les, poor, dependable, reliable, cuddly Les.

Keys grabbed her hands and placed them on the snap above the zipper in his jeans. He broke the kiss long enough to say, “If you don’t make the next move, nothing will happen. You want this to happen, right?”

Eminence stared at Keys for a moment, studying his still steely gray eyes that had enraptured her from the first moment she’d met him.

Was she this starved for affection? Did she really need to feel him inside of her right now? Could she forget the hurt and pain from the past to extinguish her lusty flame inside? Could she betray Les like this?

Eminence swept her hand up the front of his pants, feeling an impressive bulge and making him growl his appreciation. Hell, she could screw him like he and Jordie had done her. Fuck him and then leave him again. She’d already made plans to break up with Les before she even knew Keys stood at the door.

She pulled open the snap on his jeans and worked to pull down his zipper when Keys scooped his hands under her butt and lifted her. With only two steps, he had her carried over to the desk. She reached back to push her purse to the floor just before he sat her on the top. Using the heels of her stilettos, she snagged his jeans and pulled them down.

It was an ok IR..The only problem I had was the female character was blowing off hot one minute and the next cold..and the male acted like an alpha male one minute and then a wuss about expressing his feelings the next. Not all thats cracked up to be but I would still read IR novels written by this author.
