Interlude 2

Relaxing back in the passenger seat, Olivia turned her head, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Seriously, Matt? Out of gas?" She laughed lightly. "Been a long time since you used that one. Guess we won't be getting home anytime soon."

Matthew grinned. "At least this time your dad won't be waiting at the door to kick my ass when we do get home."

"I think that might have had something to do with the huge hickey on my neck, and the fact that you had your sweater on inside out." Her cheeks flushed with pleasure at the memory--not only from the look of abject fear on Matthew's face, but also from the evening that had gone before. They'd become lovers that night, in the back seat of Matthew's Camaro, with Van Halen playing on his new stereo.

"Do you have your cell with you?" His voice broke into Olivia's thoughts.

Looking down at her body, wrapped in a figure hugging red satin dress, she arched one fine eyebrow.

"I barely have room to breathe in this dress, let alone conceal a phone." Catching a spark of interest in her husband's green eyes, Olivia ran her hands from the strapless bodice of the gown, down to the cinched in waist, and crossed her legs to reveal just a hint of stocking-top. She was rewarded by a hitch in Matthew's breathing.

"Remember that night, Matt?" Rubbing her thumb over her silk-clad knee, she looked out the windshield at the shiver of the leaves on the trees and the reflection of the moon on the hood of the car. She was intensely aware of Matthew's eyes on her, and her skin tingled with anticipation.
