Hold Onto the Night

Before she could stand, a large figure stopped at her booth, blocking the light from the bar. Caron held back her gasp. For one brief moment her scarred memories made her think it was Ben standing there, that just her thoughts alone had summoned him.

No. Ben was dead. She was alive. She had to remember that.

“May I join you?”

A sudden hard shiver of odd anticipation swamped all her senses at the man’s deep, husky voice. Instant erotic visions of hot silk, tangled sheets and bodies bombarded her mind and immediately pushed away the morbid thoughts of Ben. The ferocity of the thoughts and how quickly her body had responded shocked her. Was this what the beginning of a game of seduction felt like?
