Description
Laid off, back with her parents, forced to take on a cheap burger-flipping job back home just to pay the rent, Darcy thought her life was going nowhere - until Bobby Kritken, that is. Younger than Darcy. Bobby was friendly toward her, even though their Dads fought bitterly. When by pure chance Darcy caught an irresistable view through her bedroom window into Bobby's. Excerpt:
Dad and Mr. Kritken had been feuding for as long as I could remember. They say good fences make good neighbors, but I have to tell you, there weren’t fences tall enough in the world to turn those two into good neighbors. Still, tall as those fences were, they didn’t block out the light from the second story window that now disrupted my sleep. Nor did they block the view. I stared out my window into the room directly across from me and saw a familiar face. Bobby Kritken peered earnestly in my direction, as though looking for something. Was he looking for me? I froze, not sure what to do. After a few more moments of looking, he turned away. And pulled off his shirt.
If I’d been frozen before, I was a statue now. I couldn’t move, couldn’t blink, couldn’t even breathe. All I could do was just stand there and drool as Bobby stretched his arms over head, giving me a good view of his muscular back and shoulders. Good god he was built! He wasn’t over-muscled, like some thick neck jock addicted to free weights. Instead, he had the long lean lines of a swimmer. He turned to the side and my jaw dropped as he unbuttoned his jeans. Was I really watching this? Was I really, honest to god, watching Bobby Kritken take off his pants?
Yes! He bent over as he slid his jeans down, and I saw that his legs were as nice as his shoulders and back. When he straightened up and stretched again, I got an eyeful of his boxer shorts. They were tented at the front, like something hard was trying to poke through the fabric. Bobby turned back to face me and peered into my darkened window again. He eased a hand into the waistband of his shorts, and I thought I saw him shudder. I know I shuddered. I watched his hand slide in and out of his boxers. My heart pounded in my ears. Take it off! I screamed in my head. Take it all off!
Then there was a knock at my bedroom door.
“Darcy? Are you still up?”
Shit. Mom! I flew from the window to my bed in one giant leap, clonking my head on the headboard as I landed. I saw stars, but still managed to scramble beneath the sheets before my mom slipped into the room.
“Oh sweetie, are you all right? I thought I should come up and check on you.”
Don’t look out the window, I thought, realizing I’d still left the blinds open. For love of God, don’t look out the window!
“I’m fine,” I said. “It’s just a headache.”
“Well I’m not surprised,” she said. “You’ve been working so hard lately. I know things have been tough, but you’ll get a new job soon.”
“Yeah, thanks Mom. I’m gonna go to sleep now.”
I rolled over, pretending to play dead, when Mom spotted the open blinds.
“Darcy Daniels, I swear, you’re going to give everyone on the block a free show! You need to close your blinds, honey.”
She ambled over to the window. I waited to hear her shriek over the naked, masturbating young man next door. She said nothing, just drew the blinds and came ambling back.
“Good night sweetie.” She kissed me on the forehead. “Oh, I miss tucking you in!”
“Mom! I’m not a kid anymore.”
“I know, I know.”
She left the room, closing the door behind her. I counted to twenty then crept out of my bed to take another peek out the window.
There was nothing to see. Bobby Kritken’s window was dark.
