Going Greek

“Hello. Did you miss me?” murmured a deep voice in Marigold’s ear.

A finger slowly traced a strand of her hair away from her cheek and tucked it smoothly behind her ear. She smiled, and inhaled the citrus-flower fragrance floating through the courtyard on an afternoon breeze.

“No,” she said. He chuckled. She grabbed his hand and rubbed her cheek against her dream lover’s palm. Masculine notes of an evergreen forest after a spring rain tickled Marigold’s nose. With a sigh, she welcomed the imagery playing in her mind, especially since her only audience to this fantasy was herself.

“Why not, beautiful?”

“It’s my dream. I can say what I like.”

“Can you do what you like?”

She nodded and kissed his inner palm. “So can you.”
