Description
Is there really a thin line between love and hate?

Can Gavin Hess change from street thug to corporate mogul? Treva doesn’t think so. Five years prior, it was rumored that Gavin’s guys had sent her brother to an early grave. In Treva’s mind, Gavin is the guilty party. The Hess family bought out Superior Technologies. Now Gavin is her new boss. Her salary will double, and the benefits are great. The Hess family might own Superior Technologies, but Gavin doesn’t own Treva Reece. Does her body know the difference between love and hate, though?

Excerpt:
A passing glance seemed appropriate enough. Checking out the new boss’s clothes couldn’t hurt. What a man placed on his back spoke volumes. A pair of charcoal shoes moved swiftly before her. Above that, dark gray slacks and a blazer appeared appropriate. On further investigation, a soft pink shirt covered a broad chest while a burgundy and gray tie finished the picture. Treva ran her curious gaze over his rear; he remained was unaware of her existence.

From the back, she could see that his hair was brunette, medium short, and very neat. In his suit, his shoulders were perfectly squared. Beyond a doubt, this was no ordinary man.

While Paul tried desperately to unlock Mr. Jefferson’s office, Treva glimpsed the contours of his face. Simultaneously, a bombshell hit her like a jolt from hell! She parted her lips then slowly lowered her glasses. Cold shivers ran over her body while her heart leaped wildly.

This gorgeous male—was Gavin Hess. The Gavin Hess. Her breathing simply stopped. Suspended air fought to free itself from her chest cavity. This man couldn’t be her new boss? Perhaps, there was some mistake. Gavin Hess, a known thug, was now a corporate mogul? Drumming her finger against her temple, Treva realized something just didn’t add up.

Five years ago was the last time she saw Gavin Hess. Her family sat quietly in a court room, waiting nervously for Hess’s sentence. Then, Hess was on the other side of the law. As leader of the Inner City Warriors, he was ruthless and cold. Although he was cleared of any wrongdoings, Treva was sure he had her brother killed. She yanked her glasses off her face and tossed them on her desk. There is no way I can work with this man, simply no freaking way! With the way Treva felt, Gavin Hess might as well have killed Theo himself. To her, it was a poor attempt to look like a suicide.

I had to force myself to read this book. Thought it would be pretty good. You get a sense of what is going on with the heroine, but NEVER with the hero. Too much lacking in a story that could have been really good.
