“Ladies!” Melinda said as she went onto the stage. “Our next dancer is Black Velvet.”
The deafening roar of the women told Jody that he was everyone’s favorite.
The music surged through the room. Jody’s gaze was drawn to the man sitting on the chair. He had a hat strategically tilted covering his face, which showed off his incredible smile. Oh God, his smile was hypnotic. When he started to move she couldn’t look away. He wore only the hat and jeans. He stood up and kicked the chair from him. He tossed the hat off as he started to crawl down the runway. That damn smile on his face, arrogant, sexy, seductive … Jody couldn’t catch her breath as he moved closer.

Hunter saw the woman in the middle of the room. She looked out of place here. She was pretty, but not overly so … it was the way she looked at him that turned him on. “I know.” He smiled at her and went back to the dressing room to get ready for the cages.
Jody gulped down what was left of her wine.
“I knew you would like him. Bid on him.”
“I can’t afford him,” Jody said softly.
She looked back up when the music came back on. All ten dancers were in the cages dancing.
“Bid on him.” Linda handed Jody a piece of paper. “Here let me do it for you.”
“No …”
“It’s my treat.” Linda quickly filled in the form and handed it to the waitress.
“I can’t believe you did that.”
“You can thank me later.”
Jody looked over to the cage Black Velvet was dancing in. He was so confident it bordered on arrogant. But damn he was sexy.
After a couple of songs, the men left the cages.
Melinda came back on the stage. “The bids have been tallied.” She proceeded to name the women who had the winning bids.
Jody couldn’t help but smile when Linda won the bid for Zoltan.
“Now last but most certainly not least … the winner of Black Velvet is Jody Davis. Congratulations to all the winners. The escorts will take you to your prize.”
Jody sat there in disbelief. She quickly became very nervous. She hadn’t been with a man in a long time. Not since Derek. After the hell he put her through she had no interest in men.
