Rubbing his thumb over Grady’s knuckles distractedly, Gordon asked, “Have you been partnered with Lyle for long?”

“The entire time I’ve been here,” Grady murmured. His gaze fixed on the hand that Gordon rubbed. “I met Lyle my first day on the job. Gordon fought back the wave of jealousy at Grady’s words about Lyle. Their easy camaraderie was evident. His thumb paused in its travels over the detective’s skin.
